Internship Program
AZYEP offers work opportunities through student-designed internships and peer mentoring.
Students that have gained enough experience as a radio broadcaster and have demonstrated responsibility, leadership skills, and passion for radio, can apply to become an intern. Students earn stipends for working with younger DJs and producing and editing radio content.
MEET THE INTERNS

WFHB’s Youth Radio in Bloomington, Indiana, and the Andy Zanca Youth Empowerment Program (AZYEP) in Carbondale, Colorado, connected six pairs of audio pen pals during the 2024 to 2025 school year. Participants exchanged recorded messages with their partners, sharing stories about life in Indiana and Colorado, school, hobbies, and more. Visit the WFHB or AZYEP website to find the recordings from last year and stay tuned for more audio pen pals this school year.
